Gargoti is a picturesque town surrounded by hills; 50 kms. away from Kolhapur. Shri Mouni Vidyapeeth is an educational complex having 19 institutions imparting education from Primary level to Ph.D. level. It is established in 1946 with the aim of rural reconstruction through education. Campus is spread over 65 acres with residential accommodation for staff and students. Institute of Civil & Rural Engg. (I.C.R.E.) is aided polytechnic which is affiliated to Directorate of Technical Education and Board of Technical Education (A.I.C.T.E.) vide letter numbers * F. No. 740-89-067 (E) / RC / 95 dated 15-11 -2000.

Since 1957 (over 49 years) thousands of students have completed their diploma courses in Engg. & Technology from I.C.R.E. and they are spread all over the nation in different sections.
