The onlash of electronics era, advanced & innovative ways of doing things necessitated the establishment of computer centre and the institute rightly did it by opening computer centre in 1991. The demand of industry for technicians from this field also forced the Institute to start the diploma course in this discipline. So under W. B. P. Scheme. Computer Engineering Diploma Course was started during the academic year 1994-95.

At present well established three computer centres are in existence with more than 150 terminals including PCs, XTs, ATs, Network and Pentiums with the facilities of plotters, AutoCAD, Windows, Laser Printers, Colour Printers etc. The department is competent enough to train the personnel from Industries, Banks, Colleges etc. & various consultancy are undertaken. Our Institute is now connected to Internet from May 1999.
